Foreign auto shows are always exciting for a number of reasons. Since different auto markets have different needs and consumer preferences, it’s exciting to get a glimpse into the cars that aren’t sold here in the U.S. and that we simply can’t get.
With the Tokyo Motor Show in full swing, this show is no different in that it teases auto enthusiasts with the cars that are unattainable stateside. One of these cars is the Daihatsu Cocoa. As an ultra compact four-seater, Detroit Used Hyundai says this car would easily rival cars like the Nissan Cube or the Smart.
Another hit in Tokyo is the Subaru Exiga GT STi. The Exiga is similar to the Forester, but with far more performance attitude. With the same 225-horsepower boxer engine available in the States, this car has room for seven passengers. A Ford dealer Concord observes that the car would fit in competitively in its respective market segment, and particularly between the Forester and the larger Tribeca as the ultimate people and cargo mover in the Subaru lineup.
Minivans in the U.S. are a dying breed thanks to the popularity of the crossover. But according to Laconia Toyota dealers, the Toyota Estima hybrid may be able to change that. This seven seat minivan features the same hybrid system used in the Prius, making it save on fuel costs for the growing family.
