Unattainable Cars at the Tokyo Motor Show

Daihatsu Cocoa image Foreign auto shows are always exciting for a number of reasons. Since different auto markets have different needs and consumer preferences, it’s exciting to get a glimpse into the cars that aren’t sold here in the U.S. and that we simply can’t get.

With the Tokyo Motor Show in full swing, this show is no different in that it teases auto enthusiasts with the cars that are unattainable stateside. One of these cars is the Daihatsu Cocoa. As an ultra compact four-seater, Detroit Used Hyundai says this car would easily rival cars like the Nissan Cube or the Smart.

Another hit in Tokyo is the Subaru Exiga GT STi. The Exiga is similar to the Forester, but with far more performance attitude. With the same 225-horsepower boxer engine available in the States, this car has room for seven passengers. A Ford dealer Concord observes that the car would fit in competitively in its respective market segment, and particularly between the Forester and the larger Tribeca as the ultimate people and cargo mover in the Subaru lineup.

Minivans in the U.S. are a dying breed thanks to the popularity of the crossover. But according to Laconia Toyota dealers, the Toyota Estima hybrid may be able to change that. This seven seat minivan features the same hybrid system used in the Prius, making it save on fuel costs for the growing family.

2010 Ford Taurus SHO Quick Look

2010-Ford-Taurus-image The 2010 Ford Taurus is all new, and it marks the first all-new model since Ford decided to bring back the Taurus nameplate following the dismal results of the Ford Five Hundred sedan. What Ford has also brought back is the SHO, the performance model of the Taurus.

Missing in action since 1994, the Ford Taurus SHO offered plenty of performance, features, and roominess that St Paul used car dealers say made it a valuable option for those wanting a performance sedan . The latest model promises to continue that same formula. While the exterior styling is fresh and sleek, customers at a Wyoming Ford dealer have also noted that interior space is outstanding. Plus, the interior is filled with features that consumers wouldn’t normally find outside of the luxury sedan segment.

But of course the Ford Taurus SHO would be nothing without power, and San Diego Ford Car Repair contests that the latest model truly delivers it. Powering the SHO is a twin-turbo direct-injected EcoBoost V6 that produces 365 horsepower. Thanks to all-wheel drive, that power is adequately tamed. Inside, lead-footed drivers can also control their shifting themselves thanks to steering wheel mounted shift paddles which certainly enhance the performance attitude.

Inside the 2010 Ford Taurus SHO, occupants will enjoy a unique range of entertainment and information systems, including Sync. The Taurus also comes standard with an array of safety features that have helped the 2010 model earn a top safety rating from IIHS.
